The lymphatic drainage is a method of physical therapies. Their application areas are wide-ranging. It serves primarily as a decongestion. Through various massage techniques the lymphatic system will be activated by improving especially the pumping capacity of the lymphatic vessels (lymphangiones). The frequency of the lymphangiones is at rest about 10-12 contractions per minute. This can be increased to up to 20. The therapist generates by special grips with changing pressure (pressure phase with transverse and longitudinal stretching of the skin or zero phase - only skin contact is maintained) a stimulus for the tissue. The smooth (involuntary) muscle cells of the lymphangiones answer this stimulus with an increased pumping frequency. A frequent repetition of the grips results in an increased flow rate.

Shiatsu, also known as Japanese finger pressure massage, is a form of massage that has emerged from traditional Chinese massage (Tuina). At the beginning of the 20th century, various forms of energetic bodywork and manual treatment methods were combined in Japan and united under the name of Shiatsu, to distinguish themselves from the pure relaxation massage. Shiatsu literally means "finger pressure", but the treatment includes much more: For touching the entire body is used. Therefore I work less with muscle strength but with my body weight.
